Fall 2009 Program Grant Applications
We are now accepting applications for grants to assist the creation and expansion of library based literacy programs.
This grant program provides funds for literacy instruction programs to be established in libraries. We will endeavor to establish literacy instruction programs in all types of north Texas libraries. The project will be facilitated by the North Texas Regional Library System (NTRLS) and supported by our partner organizations. NTRLS will rely on its partners to provide the instruction and give advice on best practices when it comes to literacy instruction. The list of partner programs can be found on this website in the Resources tab.
Libraries of all types are eligible, including public, school, academic, and special. The library must be located in Archer, Baylor, Clay, Cottle, Denton, Erath, Foard, Hardeman, Hood, Jack, Johnson, Montague, Palo Pinto, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant, Wichita, Wilbarger, Wise, or Young county. All new and expanded programs are eligible to apply.
Preference will be given to grant applications that assist with Adult Literacy, Family Literacy and English as a Second Language (ESL). If your library is interested in applying but needs instructors, check our database of Literacy Programs for potential partners.
Applications will be due at 5:00 pm CST, on October 29, 2009. For more information, contact the NTRLS Libraries for Literacy Coordinator.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services, a federal agency that fosters innovation, leadership and a lifetime of learning, supports the North Texas Regional Library System, Inc. (NTRLS) through the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
