2010 LearningExpress Library Grant Application
NEW
After reviewing all the applications, we still have $2,600 remaining. So, we are reopening the grant application for a second round until February 24.
Timeline
Applications are due Monday, February 1, 2010. Decisions will be announced Monday, March 1, 2010. The grant is for a 12 month subscription lasting April 1, 2010 through March 31, 2011.
Purpose
This grant program subsidizes memberships in the NTRLS LearningExpress Library Consortium.
Eligibility
Libraries of all types, including public, school, academic, and special. The library must be located in Archer, Baylor, Clay, Cottle, Denton, Erath, Foard, Hardeman, Hood, Jack, Johnson, Montague, Palo Pinto, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant, Wichita, Wilbarger, Wise, or Young county.
Current members are eligible, but preference will be given to grant applicants who are not currently members of the consortium.
Value
A total of $10,000 is available for LearningExpress Library subscriptions. Individual grants are for the cost of a one-year subscription to LearningExpress Library for the applicant’s community or $1,000, whichever is less.
Obligations
Recipients are required to sign a contract with North Texas Library Partners as members of the NTRLS LearningExpress Library Consortium.
Recipients must pay for the portion of their LearningExpress Library subscription that is not covered by the grant.
Recipients will be required to provide a monthly count of the number of visitors accessing the service, the number of tests taken, the number of courses taken, and the number of publicity materials given out. The Libraries for Literacy Program will work with recipients on determining how to collect these statistics.
Application
Applicants are required to set up an account on this site to file the application. A PDF version of the application is available for decision-making purposes, but only applications submitted through this website will be accepted.
