Libraries for Literacy received a grant of nearly $60,000 this last August to implement three pilot projects in the three communities of Alvarado, Saginaw and Seymour. Alvarado started offering English as Second Language classes in October. Cleburne Independent School District provides the literacy training to over 20 students on a weekly basis. Volunteer training occurred in Seymour in November with classes starting in January. Volunteer training for Saginaw will start in January.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services, a federal agency that fosters innovation, leadership and a lifetime of learning, supports the North Texas Regional Library System, Inc. (NTRLS) through the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
